My name is Ashok Jain, and I am a transplant surgeon. I worked at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) from 1989 to 2003. In January 2003, I moved to the University of Rochester Medical Centre at Strong Memorial Hospital as a professor of surgery in the division of solid organ transplantation. At the institute, I perform liver, pancreas, and kidney transplants, and conduct research on the effects of immunosuppressive agents on organ recipients. Since September 2008, I have been at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, setting up a new liver transplantation program.
